• Taught at the former Schwenksville High School from 1933 to 1945
• Taught physical education and health at Boyertown from 1946 until retiring in 1973
• Assistant football coach at Boyertown under Bob Fleming until taking over as head coach in 1953
• Coached the 1962 Ches-Mont championship team
• Coached football for a total of 33 years
• Coached high school baseball for 40 years compiling a record of 582 wins with just 66 losses, including 19 league titles and 9 undefeated seasons
• Managed the Boyertown American Legion baseball team
• Founded the Central Perkiomen Little League
• Coached basketball at Boyertown, the Kimberton Waldorf School, and was head coach at Ursinus College from 1959 to 1976
• Mayor of Schwenksville for many years
